Stealing other people's repaints is a problem as it's very easy to do so. Currently there is nothing to stop this from happening.
In ETS2 at least mods are kept in a custom ".scs" format which is a barrier to some extent without software.
What's really annoying is when someone uses the repaint in their work without giving the original creator any credit.
Yannick [FR] probably knows about this issue.
Possibly, with the ones on the Workshop. But what about the ones elsewhere? 
I don't think the problem only lies in the Workshop itself as repaints can end up anywhere.
However, maybe at least something can be done with the stolen repaints in the Workshop like you mentioned.
Hi DavidGamer401 this is the first time that I hear about this Problem. Do you know about any reports of this problem to the TML team? Also I cannot find any reported items in the Steam Workshop.
havent heard about that before too. Did you report all the stolen repaints with the report button in Steam?

if you see your own repaints beeing stolen or reuploaded without your permission, please use the report button in steam workshop. We will be notified and will take care about it. We wont be notified about comments below those stolen repaints, therefore it is important that you properly report those repaints.

It is a shame indeed, I've been battling a guy on steam for a while as I was unaware of the report function.
Everytime I comment he deleted it... Finally reported it on steam.

John Reasonmill I don't even have a clue how he got the templates because some of the owners didn't post the templates on this forum.I'm very sorry for the creators of those repaints.Also noticed that he only takes MAN Lion's Coach Normal/C repaints only.
Unfortunately, it is very easy to get the templates of workshop repaints.
Hi, sorry ; a long time that I was not here. for me the biggest thief is the legendary Jazzycat which uses our Fernbus repaints to make his mods, without credits. bad things, he request about donations on his site.
